Values-Driven Productivity exists to help you make meaningful progress on things that matter.
Productivity is often associated with putting our heads down and gritting our teeth, trying to complete tasks as quickly as possible. This association can invoke anxiety, often because we’re starting in the wrong place--pursuing how we plan to work harder and faster without defining (or redefining) what we truly value.
To pursue values-driven productivity encourages us to look beneath the surface to what we want to work toward and why.
Things that matter
- Faith – Honor God with my life as a committed Christian.
- Family – Experience caring and close relationships with immediate and extended family members.
- Friends – Enjoy authentic relationships with my community.
- Fitness – Maintain a healthy mind and body.
- Finances – Steward well the resources in my care.
My name is Blake Mankin. I serve as a fundraiser for HOPE International in Houston, TX (but don't blame them if you find something here you don't like). I'm married to a wonderful woman, and we have a two-year-old son. We're active members at Hope Church. I'm passionate about both helping and learning from people like you. We're all in this together, after all. I don't want to do all the talking, so feel free to get in touch. I'm also on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. As you'll come to find, however, I'm constantly working to keep these tools in their proper place, so I may not be immediately responsive there.
In February 2018, I decided to remove all affiliate links from the site and discontinue using them. I also don't accept or pursue outside advertisers. Links to or mentions of any external content doesn't earn me any monetary commission.
I often share here about disciplines, habits, tools, and practices. We all iterate over time, so things mentioned in past posts were true then but may not be true today. Please ask any questions about if and/or how I've updated anything since original publication.
